Do you often have to think about those things without which human life is simply impossible? No, we are not talking about food, water, money or anything material. There are some things that we don't even think about, but without them, life will seem like just an ordinary existence. And people rarely think about such things. However, in our article we have compiled a whole list of necessary things that should be given more attention, since they are very important.
Health
Perhaps this is the most important thing that every person should appreciate. Even if you are a rich and influential person who is capable of doing great things, this does not mean that you will have excellent health. However, it is precisely this that is included in the list of the most necessary things for a person who wants to feel alive and happy. After all, poor health will sooner or later lead to a deplorable state.
Also, psychologists have repeatedly confirmed that the more excellent health a person has, the happier he becomes over time. The point is not even that in this case nothing will prevent him from feeling happy. It’s just that when a person exercises or consumes healthy food, endorphins are released. These substances are also colloquially referred to as “happiness hormones.” So it is not surprising that this thing is the most necessary for absolutely everyone.
Time
Without exaggeration, this resource can be called the most expensive thing that every person has. Have you decided to make a list of necessary things? Time should occupy one of the leading positions in it. Yes, sometimes it may seem that we have too much of it, but this is the most common misconception that a person can succumb to. Life becomes incredibly fleeting as we get older. And the closer a person gets to old age, the less time he has left.
Of course, this resource is non-renewable. You cannot get more time because it only tends to flow away. However, it is within your power to rationally use the time allotted by fate. If you start spending more time on self-development and working on your future, you will feel happier. Otherwise, your brain will realize that it is wasting time, as a result of which constant depression will pester you and will not leave you alone.
Inspiration
This thing, necessary for every person, is also called motivation. An inspired person is capable of achieving great heights. And we are not even talking about wealth and enormous popularity. It is unlikely that any person who has ever lived has used even half his potential. And it’s all about motivation, which appears and then disappears. Of course, no one can be inspired every day, but it is precisely this state that leads to better results.
Many people believe that motivation is the province of individuals involved in sports. Well, only those who are creative need inspiration. Of course, such words are deeply misleading. After all, a motivated person is capable of not only achieving great success in life, but also completing assigned tasks without much difficulty, and also finding the strength to solve problems. Every person really needs this thing.
Friendship
All people who decide to engage in self-development should carefully learn one lesson: loneliness is a utopia. No matter what heights a person reaches, it is vital for him to feel the attention of others to himself. This allows you to increase your self-esteem and also gain motivation to move forward. However, who, if not a friend, is able to give practical advice or even help in a difficult situation? Therefore, a person should also include friendship in the list of necessary things.
Plus, connecting with people can be incredibly rewarding. Think for yourself: who will have an easier time building a house - a person who is used to doing hard work himself, or someone who will ask for help to supply a heavy sheet of slate for the roof? Friends can give us the right thoughts, point out our shortcomings, and motivate us to be better. Therefore, you should value friendship and make useful contacts if necessary.
Success
One of the most necessary things that absolutely everyone needs. If a person does not see that the business he is engaged in brings him success, then sooner or later he will lose all motivation for action, and no one will have the right to blame him for this. Therefore, it is important for every person to feel the positive result of their labors every day. Otherwise, we simply will not have the strength to cope with difficulties.
An interesting fact is that success, like motivation, is a short-term phenomenon. It is far from a fact that the owner of a large company will hold a position throughout his life, and all the contracts that he concludes will work as intended. Moreover, success is a rather relative concept. One person will rejoice at words of gratitude, while for another, even material rewards will not be enough. However, everyone needs success - that's a fact.
Love
It is difficult to imagine a person who does not need care, affection and attention from loved ones. Even if you have several hundred devoted friends who are ready to follow you through thick and thin, will you be happy? Most likely not, because everyone wants to feel special to someone. We all want to hear from a loved one the words: “You are more important to me than life itself.”
It is quite difficult to give the very concept of love, since every person perceives this feeling ambiguously. However, it is inextricably linked with the release of endorphins, which allow you to feel a surge of happiness. A person in love will always feel alive, cherishing every minute spent next to their other half. It is doubly pleasant when the feelings turn out to be mutual - such relationships sometimes even cause envy among others.
List of obligatory things that everyone needs to do

Education
What things do a modern person need to feel happy? Many will say that a large amount of money, as well as influential acquaintances, is enough. However, will a rich person feel happy when she has to communicate with smart people? Or does the number of smartphones indicate the level of intelligence? Of course not. Therefore, every person needs a good education to achieve great heights.
However, one should not confuse an educated person with one who graduated from a higher educational institution. You don't have to go to Harvard or take professional courses to be smart. Many outstanding personalities were self-taught. The main thing is to have a desire for self-improvement and use every opportunity to become smarter, since without the necessary knowledge in a particular area you will not be able to achieve success.
Faith
Have you ever heard about the law of materialization of thoughts? If yes, then you most likely know well how important it is to keep faith in something good. After all, if a person focuses only on problems, then they will certainly appear in his life again and again. Well, only those individuals who always think about good things achieve success. Even if troubles surround him on all sides, faith will help resolve the most serious difficulties.
In addition, it should be noted that if a person deep down hopes that his desires will someday come true, then this will happen. The scope of dreams is not limited. It all depends on how strongly a person believes in a particular dream. For example, if someone wants to become the ruler of the world, then this is quite possible. But only if the person does not doubt his desire and that it will definitely come true.
Organization
You probably still think that life without a corkscrew and clothespins is impossible. Although this is not true.
The line between asceticism and comfort is thin and invisible. That’s why it’s so easy to slip from restrained organization into unbridled collecting. Along the way, he called another bundle of rubbish “a necessary thing in the household.” Imperceptibly transferring the brain from the “necessary and sufficient” mode to the “need 3 more packages of goodness” mode.
What to do: use logic and imagination when arranging your living space. Weigh and imagine why you need a new device, where it will be stored and how soon you will get tired of it.
Memory
There is nothing more beautiful than memories. Even if a person achieves great heights and spends days on end on the ocean shore, lying in a hammock and drinking freshly squeezed juice, this does not mean that he will be completely happy. Sometimes we just need to feel a feeling of nostalgia. Don't believe me? Just remember how you spent your childhood carefree with friends or met your first love. Memories awaken very pleasant emotions in us.
But how will a person who has experienced complete memory loss as a result of amnesia feel? That's right, he will begin to feel out of place. Such patients see themselves surrounded by thousands of other people, each of whom has something to remember. However, the fact that they cannot find a single piece of information about the past in their brain is sometimes just maddening. Therefore, memory is included in the list of necessary things (necessary things).
Saving money
You probably still think you don't have the money to travel to South America. Or only five million is missing to build a house. If so, then forget: you have this money. Only you spend them on clothes, devices and comfortable household items.
A sober assessment of the contents of your basket will allow you to save significant amounts. Yes, yes, the same ones that you cannot find a use for after leaving the accounting department with a fresh salary. What to do: open a replenishable bank account, and when there are three or four thousand dollars in it, go to Australia. Or to South Africa.
Self-development
If a person always stops at what has been achieved in one area or another, then he will not be able to achieve great heights. Therefore, do not forget how important it is to develop every day. And we are talking not only about the professional sphere of activity. A person should also take care of his body by regularly engaging in physical activity, read more books, develop his memory and expand his vocabulary, get out of his comfort zone, and so on.
Lack of progress is degradation. So the list of necessary things for women and men should definitely include self-development. Otherwise, a person will not feel that he is living a useful life. He will gradually begin to understand that he could achieve more if he could overcome barriers within himself. Sooner or later, such thoughts will lead to the fact that the person simply ceases to feel the taste of life and feel happiness.
Safety
Every person should feel that his life is not in danger. Otherwise, there can be no talk of any self-development, because you will have to spend all your time only protecting yourself and your loved ones. Therefore, every person deep down understands that safety is of great importance. The reason for everything is the instinct of self-preservation, which is inherent in us by nature itself. There is nothing more important than saving your own life by any means necessary.
Most people do not pay much attention to this factor because they simply do not notice it. However, imagine a situation where you suddenly find yourself in the past, right on the front line in the Great Patriotic War. Will the safety of your loved ones and your own be important to you? Most likely, it will be at the top of your list of necessary things. What a pity that many people simply do not appreciate the fact that they live in peacetime and forget about safety.
Life Skills

22. Know your alcohol limit.
Otherwise, your life will end like this man's.
Discipline
Self-development is simply impossible without this most important thing. If a person does not know how to control his own thoughts, feelings, actions and spoken words, then he will forever remain in the same place where he is now. No matter how strong the motivation, sooner or later it will disappear. But if a person has well-developed discipline, then he will be able to overcome all adversity by simply saying: “I must do this!”
This useful quality allows you not only to engage in self-development, but also to establish relationships with other people. After all, sometimes you just want to say a few sweet words to a close friend or significant other. However, we hold back so as not to hurt the person. If a person knows how to discipline himself, he will be able to simplify the process of achieving what he wants, and will also very quickly find his soul mate.
"The three most important things in life"
10/18/20 Yuri Ilchenko
Plan.
Introduction
Relationships play such an important role in a person's life that they can influence all aspects of it, leading to completely different results. Let's consider three main directions of relations.
- What do you think about God?
How do you imagine Him? What you think about God will mean how you see yourself. Sometimes a person sees God from the side of personal knowledge and experience.
Exodus 34:5 God appeared to Moses and declared Himself who He was. He is humane, first of all. We must reflect these qualities of the Father in our lives.
Exodus 34:6-7 God is merciful, slow to anger, abounding in mercy, true, trustworthy, constant and unchangeable. There is no darkness in Him and He expects light from us. God is open, that is His nature. He maintains mercy for 1000 generations, forgives guilt, crimes and sin.
The devil will deceive us on all counts, but if we believe in such a God, then we ourselves will strive for this.
Hos.6:3 We need to strive to know the Lord so as not to be deceived by the devil. God asks us in hours when we do not expect it, and if we have a thirst to know Him, He pours out these revelations to us. We will never stop knowing Him because God is great. We must know in whom we have believed.
- How do you see yourself?
People see us differently. Sometimes it's completely wrong. But we need to know exactly who we are so that the devil does not deceive us. It is important for us to know what our purpose in life is, what the meaning is. Who guides us and in what direction?
Matthew 12:37 Scripture says that a person will be justified and condemned by his words. If you promised something to God, then fulfill it! God fulfills His words, and we, as children of God, should behave in this way because faithfulness is valuable in the eyes of God.
2 Chronicles 16:9 God is looking for faithful people. He watches over His word so that it may be fulfilled ( Jer. 1:12 ). An unfaithful person thinks that God and other people are just as unfaithful.
Rom.3:4 People are deceitful, but that was in the past. You have been born again, you are a new creation, with a new character and relationships.
Mark 11:24 There is great potential in faith. All things are possible to those who believe. If God has promised, He will fulfill. When He brought His people out and into the Promised Land, it turned out to be very fertile.
Numbers 13:26-28 The spies saw the land and brought in its fruits. God was true to His promises. But people did not want to continue their path because it seemed difficult to them. We receive revelations, but we need to do something to make that word come true. Often people are close to victory, but you need to continue to move in faith, to live by faith. If we get scared, we lose. Victory must be in our spirit. There must be a different spirit in us, God's, as there was in Joshua and Caleb. You need to go through your wilderness, put away your pride and humble yourself under the strong hand of God. Our faith is tested. There is a struggle within us between the carnal and the spiritual man. You must see yourself as a victor in Christ, in whom all things are possible through faith. To do this, you need to be closer to God, walk with Him, as Moses and Joshua did. We must become new wineskins for God's wine.
- How do you see other people?
What do you think about them? You think about them according to your faith. People who are used to deceiving think that everyone is a deceiver. Scripture says: love your neighbor as yourself
Luke 6:31 The golden rule of relationships with people. Our attitude towards people will determine who will surround us. A person who is offended by everyone condemns himself to loneliness. From grievances comes condemnation.
John 8:3 God wants to take away our stony hearts that are ready to condemn. God knows that sin kills us, so He wants us not to sin. He does not want to condemn us and destroy us, but He endures for a long time so that no one perishes.
Luke 9:55 Jesus resisted condemnation.
Conclusion.
We need to be like God and not give room to the devil. God wants change in our lives, leading us from the worst to the best, where we will be His people. We change by looking to God.
Questions:
- What do you think about God?
- What do you think about yourself?
- What do you think about people?
Sermon.
Church is a place where God affirms, strengthens and educates you. It was created by God. This is His dream, idea and plan.
Today we will talk on the topic: “The three main things in our life.” There are a lot of them, but we will consider only three.
- What do you think about God?
Or how do you see God? Who is God to you? Have you asked yourself the question: “Who is God to me? What do I think about Him? How do I see and imagine Him?” This is very important because how you see God will mean how you see yourself. If people see God as evil, unforgiving, only on one side, but do not know His versatility, do not know Him from different sides, then God seems “one-sided” to them. If He saved someone through healing, then the person thinks that God is a Healer. If God has given someone some help, then the person thinks that God is his Helper. Each of us had our own personal experiences. The way you were saved revealed God to you, and you imagined Him as you saw Him.
It takes a very long time to know God. In heaven we will continue to know Him, because He is so great, so comprehensive, multifaceted, multifaceted, that this knowledge will continue forever. But ask yourself the question: “What kind of God do you see? How do you imagine Him? What God are you thinking about? What God do you believe in?
Scripture says:
Exodus 34:6 “And the Lord passed by before him and cried:.”
God Himself said what He is. Is this modest or immodest according to human standards? You can ask a person: “Tell me about yourself! What kind of person are you?" Will he say about himself that he is the best, the most correct, the most holy? We are embarrassed to say good things about ourselves, but God is not shy, because that’s who He is. The Lord, passing in front of Moses, exclaimed:
Exodus 34:6 “The Lord, the God who loves mankind.”
This inspires us! God didn’t start by saying, for example: “I am the most correct! The most almighty! The most omnipresent!” God began with what we would like to hear. He said, “I am God who loves all people.” And this is great! Further He speaks about Himself:
Exodus 34:6 “and merciful.”
Mercy, it is written, is above judgment ( James 2:13 ). God did not reward us according to our deeds and “merits”, which we deserved. Next we will look at how we see ourselves. If we are the image and likeness of God, then we must understand very well what God is like, so that we can then say: “Lord! But what You are, You expect from me, because I am Your image and likeness.” If God says that He is a lover of mankind, then He expects us to love people. If He says that He is a merciful God, He expects mercy from us, not judgment. If He says that He is a long-suffering God, then He expects the same from us. We rejoice that He has this patience and is not so easily angered. Some people are so easily impatient! Almost said the wrong thing, looked or did the wrong thing, and already you’re condemned. But our God is long-suffering and abundantly merciful! Not like a person: “Yesterday I was merciful, but today my mercy has already ended.” God is abundantly merciful. His faithfulness to people is unfailing, and His love is also unchanging.
God is true. This means that He is reliable, constant, unchanging. He is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. He is light, and in Him there is no darkness ( 1 John 1:5 ). He also expects us to be bright. Not a dark horse, but a bright person. It is important for us to be open to God and to people. Everyone likes open people. God is open like no one else. He says: “Come to Me, all of you!” His heart is so open that He says: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden” ( Matthew 11:28 ). God is open to us because openness is His nature. God never closes himself off from people. We sometimes close ourselves off from God and from people, but God is open.
Exodus 34:7 "retaining mercy for thousands of generations."
He maintains mercy, this is His essence, His nature.
Exodus 34:7 “forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin.”
God is forgiving. We often lack forgiveness and compassion. We are missing a lot of things. What God do we believe in? What kind of God do we think about? If we see what God Himself said about Himself, then we must believe it. Our views are subjective. I can see God in my own way, you can see it differently. He reveals himself to us in different ways. But what is important is what God Himself said about Himself. This is what God sees and what He says about Himself. We need to know this and believe God.
We know that the devil is a liar and he will always question everything God says. It has not changed since the Garden of Eden. “Did God speak the truth? Yes, indeed, He is humane, but no one gave you an apartment.” A person begins to think - did God really say this or that? But God is true! He Himself said about Himself that He is true! What kind of God do you see? This is the God you believe in! This is the kind of God that will be in your life. Will you believe the lies? The devil is a liar and his lies don't stop. He will always lie about every quality of God that God has declared: loving of mankind, abundant in mercy, true, etc. Lies will come on all counts. But if you are confident in God and see Him as He said about Himself, then no lie can change your opinion about God and your faith about Him.
Hos.6:3 “Let us therefore know, let us strive to know the Lord.”
This quality should be in each of us. Some people, unfortunately, have already stopped in knowing God. They already know something, they have seen something, they have read something, they have already formed something. But the prophet Hosea encourages us and says: “Let us strive to know God better, more deeply. What is His height, depth, longitude, breadth? God will ask us: “What do you want?”, and then, knowing Him, we would answer: “I want this and that.” Our material requests, which come from the Holy Spirit, are fulfilled by God.
God asks: “What do you want?” He asked Solomon about this, and asked at night, one might say, in an unconscious state, when he was not ready. We are going to an exam and we have questions to prepare for. We need to learn the material in order to give the correct answer. But God came to Solomon while he was sleeping. God asks unexpectedly, without preparation, when a person is in a dream, in order to know what he really wants, what he really thinks about Him. At school and college we were told: “You must learn the material in such a way that even if you wake up at night, you can answer.” God says He wants even more than that. Without even waking you up, even during sleep, He will ask you, and what will you answer? The Holy Spirit through Hosea says:
Hos.6:3 “Let us therefore know, let us strive to know the Lord; like the dawn is His appearing, and He will come to us like rain, like the latter rain to water the earth.”
This is directly related to thirst. God pours out to the thirsty. We must not stop in knowing God. Even if we know something, it is still very little. Compared to God, to His greatness, we still know very little. But how much we know God will depend on how much we believe in Him, how much we trust Him. Lies come, but you will say: “I know in whom I have believed,” as the Apostle Paul said. We must know in whom we have believed.
- How do you see yourself?
People see us differently. Sometimes we say: “I am not what they think of me! Not what they say about me! This is all wrong! But what do you think about yourself? How do you see yourself? What do you see there? This is very important, because if we do not know who we are, we will always be deceived. Then it will be easy for the devil to deceive us and lead us down the wrong path. We will take the wrong path, achieve the wrong goals, do things we shouldn't do, and find them out late in life, or even after we've died. We may never know who our God is or why we were created. One of the most important questions for every person is: “Why does he live on Earth?” Or: “What is the meaning, what is the purpose of life?”
Today we talked about arrows. It is very important to know what your goal is, where you are going, and who is guiding you. We are not only in the hand of God. When you say: “Here I am! Lord! Send me! Not my will, but Yours be done!” when you devote yourself to God, you give Him the right to manage your life - not in words, but in deeds - God begins to act. But if you say: “Oh, Lord, I’m sorry, I got excited and changed my mind. I don’t want it like that anymore” – will He do something?
We often make decisions concerning God during times of special favor, euphoria, in the presence of God, at conferences. We say: “Lord! I’ll even go to Bible school!” People think: “He gave this!” That’s what he said!” A person thinks: “This is me!” Mmm-mm! What am I! And then the time comes when you need to go to study, and the person wilts and begins to doubt: “Maybe it wasn’t the Lord at all? Maybe I just imagined it all? What did I want so much? Now I'm too tired. Other things have appeared, other plans.” This happens to people - they change their minds about what they once decided. But Scripture says: “By your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” ( Matthew 12:37 ). After all, no one pulled you by the tongue! But if you told God, you must fulfill it.
The words “loyalty” and “faith” have the same root. We say: “God is faithful.” We like it. We sang the song: “The faithful God will fulfill what he promised!” We are satisfied that God will do what He has promised. But will we fulfill what we promised? How do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as a faithful person? Do you see yourself as a man of your word?
We love it when people fulfill the word. We lend money to someone, and he promises to give it back, absolutely sure, in a month. “Are you sure you’ll give it back? “It couldn’t be more precise!” And you believe him! But some time passes, you ask him about money, and he answers: “You know, I have such a situation now, such circumstances that now I simply can’t, but after a while I will definitely give it to you!” And that time comes again, and you already begin to doubt: “Will he really give it to you?” And he again: “Exactly, exactly!” And it goes on and on. We don't like this attitude.
God says in the same way: “If you said, promised, then fulfill it!” We see that God is faithful and will fulfill everything that He said. Do you see yourself as such a person? A man of his word, a faithful man who does what he says? Thank God that we are changing and fulfilling more and more. Now we are not talking about the word that we give to people. This word must also be fulfilled. We are talking about the word given to God. People who fulfill the word given to people already show their character. And they also fulfill the word they gave to God.
What kind of person do you see yourself as? There are many facets to this, but we will only look at faithfulness because Scripture says that God is looking for faithful people.
2 Chronicles 16:9 “The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to encourage those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him.”
God Himself is faithful and wants this from us. If a person said, he should also be like God: yes and amen. Then he is a faithful man. God needs faithful people who will not refuse, will not renounce their words, but will do what they promised. God speaks through the prophet:
Jeremiah 1:12 “I am watchful for My word, that it may speedily be fulfilled.”
God remembers all His words. When people themselves are not faithful, it is very difficult for them to believe that God keeps His word. They have a problem with faith because, being themselves unfaithful, it seems to them that everyone else is unfaithful, and God is also unfaithful. If a person constantly promises something and does not do it, he thinks that God is probably like that. Because of this comes unbelief. How can you trust a person who promises and does not deliver? There is no faith in him, no trust. Disappointment sets in.
God is waiting for change within us. Scripture says: “God is faithful, but every man is a liar” ( Rom. 3:4 ). This is not said as an excuse to live a lie. God says it was in the past, in sinful man. The new man is created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore must be faithful. He must be a man of his word.
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you receive it, and it will be done for you.”
God wanted to show what great potential there is in faith. God wants to see our faith.
Luke 18:8 “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
Rom.10:9 “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Matthew 17:20 “Truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed and say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
There is enormous potential hidden in faith, and God is looking for people who have it, because everything is possible to a believer. If you are a person of faith, then you are a faithful person. Then you believe God and look at Him differently. You know that if God promised, He will fulfill. If you promised, you will fulfill. It changes you and makes you a completely different person.
The book of Numbers describes a situation where God led His people out of slavery in Egypt. They approached the Promised Land. God promised and fulfilled. He brought them out and freed them. They came to the Promised Land and Moses appointed 12 men to go and see for themselves what the land was like. Personal faith, personal revelations and they will tell you personally. These 12 went, saw and even brought evidence: a huge bunch of grapes carried by two people.
Numbers 13:27,28 “And they went and came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the children of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought an answer to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruits of the land; and they told him and said: We went to the land to which you sent us; it truly flows with milk and honey, and these are its fruits.”
They saw with their own eyes what God promised. Here's the proof! Look! Here one could say: “Well, thank God! This is what happiness is! Look and try! But in the next verse there is already a “but”.
Numbers 13:29-30 “But the people that dwell in that land are strong, and the fortified cities are very large, and we saw the sons of Anak there; Amalek lives in the southern part of the land, the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live on the mountain, and the Canaanites live by the sea and on the banks of the Jordan.”
God gives us revelations. We receive them, we see them, but for this to happen, we need to move on. Something must be done for the word to become flesh, because faith without works is dead. But this often happens to us: we were at a meeting, heard the word, were inspired, saw, but the moment of truth came, a test of your faith, and something changed. The question arises: “Do you really believe? Will you really go and do what the Lord said to do?” And this is where all the “buts” begin. “I wanted to serve God, I wanted to do this and that, I wanted to donate this amount, BUT...I can’t do it now. Yes, I don’t give up my words, I don’t give up my faith, but I can’t do it NOW.”
The Israelites began to say that now they could not go to this land, although they had just returned. But they can’t go there a second time. There is a huge problem when people have not seen their God. They did not see Him as a Winner, as a Protector, as a Provider, but again returned to their slavish, orphan mentality and said: “No, we won’t go, it’s scary there.”
We are sometimes very close to victory, to receiving blessings or promises. The Promised Land is a promise, a promise of God, and when you have received the revelation, you need to move on in faith, live by faith. If you don’t do this, for you it will just be some kind of story or fantasy. Then the devil will tell you: “You’ve never been anywhere at all. Who told you that you were there? You have misunderstood it. What “promised land”, what “bunches of grapes”? There was nothing, you made it all up. Wake up, look around at life – it’s different. What kind of “milk” is there, what kind of “honey” is that?” And the people of Israel were stuck in the desert for 40 years. We too can get stuck in our old thinking and understanding of who we are in Christ Jesus. We may get stuck and never grow, never develop, never enter the “promised land,” never become who we are meant to be. The Israelites thought about themselves in the same way. What do you think about yourself, what are you ready for? Are you ready to take steps of faith, or are you saying “but...”?
My wife and I have been in the faith for about 30 years. We remember our first steps with God, because the first - love, revelations - remain very bright. Years pass, and these things that were then remain very bright. I didn’t study in Bible schools then, I only read the Bible. God told me to change my job, from musician to loader. I understood that He was doing this for my humility, because if you humble yourself, then God will lift you up. And although everyone told me: “Where did you go? You will come running here soon!” I did not back down from my decision. If I had then looked at my circumstances around me: no housing, no profession, and other “buts,” then I would never have entered into my ministry and calling. When you believe that God is faithful, He will support. And I believed, no matter what. If God leads in a certain direction, we must follow. This was my “desert”. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. God needs to change you, uproot pride from your heart right there in the desert. It is written: “God resists the proud,” and I understood that I had a lot of pride and God must work hard. He won't do it without my consent, and I needed a risk to get out of my "comfort zone" and go somewhere I don't know where to do something I don't know what - very hard work for me. Sometimes I would come home from work and fall because I had no strength.
Our faith is tested. God is saying to you, “How do you see yourself? If you see yourself as a believer who is led by the Holy Spirit, then believe and trust Me.” It must be in your spirit. I saw many people to whom God spoke and gave a calling, but they had a lot of “buts” of their own, and they remained in the same place where they were, although they could have entered the “promised land”. From that generation of the people of Israel, no one entered the “promised land” except two people. Theologians say that 3 million Israelites emerged from slavery in Egypt, but of the entire old generation, only two people, Joshua and Caleb, entered the “promised land” because they had a different spirit. They calmed the people down, told people: “We will get through with God. Victory lies ahead of us." Victory awaits you, promises await, a calling from God awaits, healing awaits! There's a lot waiting for you! The victory that Jesus won on the cross belongs to you, unless you say that you have some other situation now.
Numbers 13:31 “But Caleb calmed the people before Moses, saying, Let us go and take possession of her, for we are able to overcome her.”
“Two people” are fighting within us: one old, carnal, and the other, new, spiritual. Which one will win in your life? God always had people like Joshua and Caleb who had “another spirit” in them. If the Spirit of God is in us, then it is a “different spirit.” There is a “spirit of this world” that will never tell you to follow God. God is waiting for your answer, but what do you say? How do you see yourself?
The people who went to explore the “promised land” with Joshua and Caleb said:
Numbers 13:32 “But those who went with him said, “We cannot go against this people, for they are stronger than us.”
Caleb says, “We can,” but others say, “We cannot.” This struggle also happens within us: can you or can’t? If you start thinking you can't, then you can't. But if you think you can, then you can do it!
Numbers 13:33 “And they spread evil reports about the land which they had spied.”
How things have changed! Just recently they said one thing, but now they say something different. They began to talk differently about the church and about God. Everything has changed for the worse. It is very important how you see yourself. It depends on how you see God. Joshua always walked with Moses. He saw Moses and what God was doing. Joshua's faith in God was different from the faith of other people. Caleb's faith was also different. They really believed who God was—the real, the true—and they said, “We can do it.”
Numbers 14:7 “And they said unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, The land which we passed through to spy out is very, very good.”
The will of God is very, very good! It is very, very good to be in the will of God! It is very, very good to step into your calling. Joshua and Caleb thought so. But others thought: “Not very good. Maybe we’ll wait and see.” They all died, none of them were able to enter the Promised Land, another generation arose. This is an example for us of the fact that old wineskins cannot be poured into old wineskins, old not by their years, but by their thinking. If you don’t agree with God that you are a “new creation,” then He says, “I can’t because you can’t. If you can, then I can." It is very important to understand: what kind of God do you believe in, what kind of God do you see, and how do you see yourself.
- How do you see other people?
This is also a very important question, because you think about what they are like as you believe. People who deceive everyone cannot trust anyone at all. We started with the questions: “How do you see God?” and “How do you see yourself?” The Word of God says:
Mtf. 22:39 “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
There is a “golden” rule: “treat others as you treat yourself.” You don’t deceive yourself and don’t deceive others, you help yourself and help others. This is the golden rule because it works. In other words: “What you sow is what you reap.”
Our attitude towards people will determine who will surround you. People who are offended by everyone do not want to communicate with anyone because of this, do not want to have a relationship with anyone, and doom themselves to loneliness. It’s better to ask yourself: “Why are you offended?” There are always those who are offended, and the offended person always says that he is right. We have all been offended at some point, and when we are in a state of resentment, it seems to us that our offender is wrong and we are right. Resentment is an unfair treatment, or unfair criticism, or an unfair insult. Chinese sages say that resentment “eats” a person from the inside. This is the greatest harm to the person himself. If you are offended by someone, then the more offenses you have, the less relationships you have with other people, and, therefore, the less chance you have of preaching the Gospel to other people. From resentment comes condemnation. Condemnation is judgment. If you are offended by someone, you want the Lord to do some bad things to that person. But God is merciful and abundantly merciful. It is very important to understand what kind of God we believe in and what kind of God we see. What kind of God wants to work through us, and what would He do in this situation? Would God be offended by everyone? Thank God that God is not like that! Thank God that you too will not be like that, but will be like God! After all, God created man in His image and likeness.
Genesis 1:26 “And God said, Let us make man in our image [and] after our likeness.”
This is what God wanted to see, what He expected, but the devil ruined everything. Therefore, how we treat others is important. If we treat ourselves badly, then we treat others badly. God wants to take away our hearts of stone. Hearts that want to throw a stone at someone.
One day a woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus. According to the law, she was entitled to the death penalty, and people were ready to carry it out right there and then. They tempted Jesus, wondering what He would do in this situation? What would you do in this situation? Jesus said to them:
In. 8:7 “He stood up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”
After these words, people began to gradually leave. He seemed to say: “Which of you has never been offended? Who has never judged anyone? There are no such. After this, Jesus said the following to the woman:
In. 8:10-11 “Jesus stood up and saw no one but the woman, and said to her: Woman! where are your accusers? no one judged you? She answered: no one, Lord. Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
God always wants to give us another chance. When judgment or condemnation occurs, there is no longer any mercy, no forgiveness. The person’s guilt has been proven, and you just need to do this with him. But Jesus proved that He is the same God who passed by Moses and said that He is a God loving and merciful. This does not mean that God does not want to correct us. Jesus said to the woman, “Go and sin no more!” Don't let the power of sin kill you, because sin kills us. It is written that “the wages of sin is death” ( Rom. 6:23 ). Jesus says: “Go and sin no more. I don't want to judge you." If He had condemned and God’s judgment had come, then, of course, there would have been nothing left of her. But what kind of God do we believe in? In the most merciful, merciful God! How do we want to treat other people? We always want mercy for ourselves. We ask God for mercy, not punishment. Do we want to be merciful to others?
John and his brother, the “sons of thunder,” said: “Jesus! Look what kind of people there are! The missile must be aimed at this village!” But Jesus said to them:
OK. 9:54-55 “Seeing this, His disciples James and John said: Lord! Do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and destroy them, just as Elijah did? But He turned to them and rebuked them and said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are.”
We must ask these three questions to ourselves: “1. How do I relate to God? What kind of God do I see? 2. How do I feel about myself? 3. And – how do I treat other people? God is also a God of change. Therefore, God wants to change us, will change us, because when we change, we become more and more like Him. When this happens, the devil will not do anything to us. If we are like the devil, he will use us and force us to do as he wants. But we are told not to give room to anything devilish - no anger, resentment, judgment, and so on. God wants change, changes in our lives, and He asks: “Do we want these changes for the better?”
What God does is the best. He told the people of Israel: “I am leading you from the worst to the best. I brought you out of Egyptian slavery, and I am leading you to the Promised Land, where milk and honey flow, where freedom is. There you will be My people, My children." Refusing the worst, we go with God to the best.
Prayer.
We thank You, Lord. We want to be like You. You said: “Transform yourself!” Looking at God, we want to be transformed, to change. It means to be a blessing when there is more God in our lives, more light, more love, faith and mercy. This is what God wanted us to have. The more God, the less devil, the more good, the less bad. The more love, the less hatred and anger.
Therefore, we must be wonderful children of God, like Jesus Christ.
Let's give God the glory!
Comfort
No matter what anyone says, it is still necessary to feel comfort. Yes, this concept is quite relative, since each person has his own comfortable conditions. For some, this is a house in the Maldives or a dacha in the Moscow region. And for some, there will be enough space in a rented apartment, as long as it is warm and dry. Each person has his own concepts of comfort, but the fact remains that this thing is very important in modern life.
If money and material goods are of great importance to you, then you can also include them in the category of comfort, since we would really not like to separate all this into a separate item. Yes, an expensive car, a luxurious mansion and a bunch of gadgets can give you a certain feeling of comfort. However, do not forget that a cozy place is, first of all, your home, where your loved one or your own friendly family is waiting for you.
Mental purity
You probably still think that the depletion of your vitality is due to poor ecology and a sedentary lifestyle. Although this is not entirely true.
Both the body, the eyes, and the mind need space. It is for this reason that we are more comfortable on the top of a mountain or in a field than in a cramped elevator cabin. If the comparison is incorrect, let me explain it directly: the more stuff is piled in the corners of the room, the less space there is for you, your eyes and your brain. Throw away a stack of magazines and a broken scooter and you will understand that I am right.
What to do: strive not for filling your home, but for space in it. By the way, the same applies to the cleanliness of windows. Yes, just in case.
Support
Well, the last thing, which is vital for almost every person. Sometimes we have to face situations when we really want to hear the words: “It’s okay. You tried your best. I did everything I could." This phrase should be enough for almost anyone to regain their mental strength and continue to live. It is likely that such words may even inspire a person to try again. Therefore, support is very important.
However, not only in unfavorable situations it is important to feel that someone close to you is on your side. Sometimes a person has to do something that goes against the moral and ethical principles of some people. In this case, you want to hear words of support from at least someone to be sure that you are not doing something that absolutely no one will like. For example, a person with a non-traditional sexual orientation will need support.
We hope you can now understand what things are necessary for a person to live. Of course, our article contains only a small part of what you may need. However, if you strive to protect these 14 things listed, then happiness will definitely come into your life.

Finally, let me tell you an anecdote. Old and unfunny, but perfectly illustrating our conversation.
One day a young Jew came to the rabbi. He said: “Rebbe, help me.” I do not know what to do. - What happened, my son? - asked the rabbi. — I have two geese. Gray and white. I need to kill one of them, but I don't know which one. “Kill the gray one,” answered the rabbi. - I can’t: the white one will be sad. - Well, kill the white one. - I can’t: the gray one will be sad. - So kill them both! “I can’t: I’ll make me sad... ” The rabbi scratched the back of his head and said: “There’s an Orthodox church across the street.” Come to the priest, tell him what and how, he will help you. The Jew did just that. - Father, I have two geese. I need to kill one. “Kill the white man,” answered the priest. - But then the gray one will be sad! - Well, to hell with it.
To hell with them. A minimum of things, the absence of habits and attachments is the main and only key to absolute freedom. Remember this. Although there is no such thing as absolute freedom...
